Our apartments, which are physically attached to the west end of the LTCU, not only provide our tenants with enough personal privacy; but also provide the security in knowing someone is close-by in case of an emergency. The "Basic Package" includes one meal prepared by our facility kitchen personnel, housekeeping once a week, and an emergency response system in which our facility staff members are the 'first responders" when the emergency button is activated. Also included in the basic package price is all the utilities, (except private telephone), Basic Cable TV, Individual Heating and Cooling, Maintenance, Repairs, Landscaping and Lawn Service, Snow Removal, Assistance in arranging for transportation, Immediate access to services at the Ashland Health Center, Assistance in Arranging for barber or beauty shop, if needed. In addition to the basic package tenants can contract for any additional services needed through facility's Medicaid Certified Home Health Department or another agency. Charges for these additional services may be the responsibility of the individual or if approved, assistance in payment for services may be funded through Home and Community Based Services program through Southwest Kansas Area Agency on Aging or some other agency program. Once it is determined that an individual qualifies for funding for services then the facility can determine if a person with low income qualifies for a sliding scale on the rent portion of the basic package.
