Carol Meyer
Carol Meyer has more than thirty years of experience working with businesses and non-profit organizations, specializing in people and relationship building. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin with Bachelors and Masters degrees, dedicated time to the Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce, and pursued continuing education that included community leadership, civic leadership and leadership coach trainings. Her current position as the Kansas Department of Commerce Office of Rural Opportunity Representative for the Southwest Region, allows her to partner with small rural communities, matching their overall development needs with her expertise and local, state and regional information and resources. She brings the insght of: business start-ups, expansion projects, recruiting and encouraging volunteers, working with boards and committees, developing strateigic plans, finding funding for projects, and collaborating with city, county, schools, and other community partners for community progress.

Topic: Opportunities For Rural Kansans
For its 1st 2016 Quarterly Meeting, All Members were invited and encouraged to join the chamber. Carol Meyer talked about the Opportunities For Rural Kansans. She also mentioned that Ashland has done a remarkable job in the past with getting grants and keeping businesses alives. Please ask around if you missed the Educational Issues. Meal was catered by Lupe Bonilla and Rosa Dawson. Menu included Red Chile Colorado, Rice, Beans, Flan, Tres leches cake, and drinks. There was even a Nacho Bar for the appitizers. At a Price of $9, you couldn't even step foot in a mexican restaurant. 35 people were in attendence. Bio below for Carol.
